A slightly distant port broadside view of the stemhead staysail spritsail barge Centaur (1895) under sail in the Thames Estuary. She has a white mizzen sail and all other sails are red. Her jib and foresail are furled. Beyond her is an unidentified bowsprit spritsail barge with a white staysail and with a white 6-pointed star logo on her topsail. On the left is the spritsail barge Mirosa (1892) with a Blue Circle Cement logo on her topsail. A small yacht with a white jib and red foresail and mainsail is just beyond the bow of the Centaur.
