A distant port near broadside view, taken from just abaft the beam, of the staysail spritsail barge Centaur (1895) and four other barges under sail in the Thames Estuary. She is the barge on the left with the white mizzen sail. The bowsprit barge beyond her has not been identified. Two of the three barges on the right can be identified. The staysail barge with the Hoseasons Bluebird logo on her topsail is the Xylonite (1926) and the bowsprit barge with the blue and white striped staysail and the Kent Life logo on her topsail is the Victor (1895).
