A slightly distant port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the yawl rigged oyster smack Gamecock (1907) under sail at the start of a barge match in the Thames Estuary. Her jib, staysail, foresail and topsail are white and her mainsail is red. She has F76 on her hull but her mainsail must be second-hand as it has RR23 on it. The staysail barge Repertor (1924), with all white sails and a Crowned Head logo on her topsail, is on the right and beyond her is the staysail barge Victor (1895), with a blue and white striped staysail and the Kentish Life logo on her topsail.
