Seascape from the 'Penaglis M. Hadoulis'
A sketch from the 'Penaglis M. Hadoulis' in a calm sea. The sketch looks towards the empty horizon. The artist focuses on the appearance of the wave as short, even diagonal lines of colour in the foreground, becoming a single wash of colour close to the horizon. The sky is shown cloudless. Everett sailed in the Greek-owned steamer, 'Penaglis M. Hadoulis', from Cardiff, Wales, to Montevideo, Uruguay, and back between December 1931 and March 1932. The painting is inscribed 'PMH', verso.
