A distant port quarter view, taken from wide off the stern, of the Antarctic patrol ship Endurance (1956) under way entering the River Medway, Kent, bound in for Chatham with the motor tugs Kennet (1965) and Knighton (1968) following astern. The pendant number of the Endurance is A171 and she is being escorted by a harbour launch. Both tugs are dressed overall and they are jetting water into the air from hoses on the towing deck. Negatives numbers PM2347/8A to PM2348/18A were taken on the same occasion.
