A bow view of smacks under sail in Gillingham Reach, River Medway, bound downriver at the start of a match. The smack on the left is the George & Alice (1909) with her port registry CK76 on her hull. The smack on the right has not been identified. Other smacks and spritsail barges are getting under way in the background. Negatives numbers PM2359/2 to PM2364/37 were taken on the same day.
