A slightly distant port bow view of a number of spritsail barges under sail in Gillingham Reach, River Medway, at the start of a barge match with the Vigilant (1904) leading. All of the barges seem to be on the port tack. The Vigilant has a Crossed Keys logo on her topsail. The staysail barge on the right with all white sails and a Crowned Head logo on the topsail is the Repertor (1924). Negatives numbers PM2359/2 to PM2364/37 were taken on the same day.
