A slightly distant bow view of spritsail barges under sail in Gillingham Reach, River Medway, at the start of a barge match, with the Ironsides (1900) nearest the camera. She has an RDL logo on her topsail. On the extreme left with a blue and white striped staysail is the Victor (1895). The barge in the right background is the Will (1925) with an OCL logo on her topsail. All of the barges seem to be on the port tack. Negatives numbers PM2359/2 to PM2364/37 were taken on the same day.
