A close view of the port quarter of the houseboat Mermaid (1888) moored to the bank in Conyer Creek off the Swale, Kent, near the Ship Inn. She was formerly a spritsail barge. Beyond her is the houseboat Persevere (1889) which had been a motor barge converted from a spritsail barge. A former Vosper motor torpedo boat is berthed astern of the Persevere. The houses in Conyer Road are in the background. Negatives numbers PM2391/2 to PM2394/21 were taken on the same occasion.
