Seascape

A rapid sketch showing a seascape with a ship on the horizon. The sails of the ship are visible silhouetted against the skyline. The brush strokes on the water indicate waves and a wave rises on the right. The sky is painted as shades of horizontal grey layers broken with yellow paint. The highlights on the surface of the water are tinged with yellow and painted impasto. The painting is inscribed with the artist's monogram lower right verso.
