A slightly distant port broadside view of three Essex oyster smacks under sail, racing in the Thames Estuary. Nearest the camera is the Lizzie Annie (1900) with MN23 on her hull and mainsail. In the centre is the Electron (1909) with CK36 on her hull but she is using a second-hand mainsail which has CK257 on it. Furthest from the camera is the Phantom (1897) with CK175 on her mainsail. They are all sailing on the starboard tack.
