A distant port near broadside view, taken from only just abaft the beam, of the Essex oyster smack Skylark (1877) and the bawley Helen & Violet (1906) under sail, racing in the Thames Estuary. The Skylark has her port registry CK46 on the hull and mainsail. The Helen & Violet has a white jib and the port registry LO262 is on her hull and mainsail. Both vessels are on the starboard tack.
