A distant port side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the Essex oyster smack Sunbeam (1881) and the bawley Helen & Violet (1906) under sail, racing in the Thames Estuary. Both boats are heeling over on the starboard tack. The Sunbeam has a white jib sail and has the port registry CK328 on her hull and mainsail. The Helen & Violet also has a white jib and has the port registry LO262 on her mainsail.
