Three spritsail barges under sail in Gravesend Reach, River Thames, passing Tilbury Landing Stage bound down at the start of a barge match. The bowsprit barge in the centre with a white jib is the Xylonite (1926) and she has a Prospect of Whitby logo on her topsail. The barge on the right has not been identified. The one on the left is the bowsprit barge Will (1925) with a white jib and the OCL logo on her topsail. The photographer is looking north across the river from Gravesend.
