A slightly distant port bow view of a bowspril spritsail barge racing during the 1981 Blackwater Match. Her bowsprit is topped, she has a white staysail and she is on the starboard tack. Astern of her is a staysail barge with a white staysail and she is also on the starboard tack. The race starts off Osea Island in the Blackwater and runs out into the Thames Estuary to the Wallet Spitway off Clacton before turning for the run back.
