A port side view, taken from well abaft the beam, of the spritsail barges Vigilant (1904) and Repertor (1924) under sail racing during the 1981 Blackwater Match. They are both on the starboard tack and the Vigilant is nearest the camera. The Repertor has all white sails. The race starts off Osea Island in the Blackwater and runs out into the Thames Estuary to the Wallet Spitway off Clacton before turning for the run back.
