A starboard side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the staysail spritsail barge Scone (1919) under sail in the Thames Estuary during the 1981 Blackwater Match. Her white mizzen is furled and her white topsail has PREEDCRETE on it. She is on the port tack. The top of her mast and the boat in her starboard quarter davits are out of the picture. The race starts off Osea Island in the Blackwater and runs out into the Thames Estuary to the Wallet Spitway off Clacton before turning for the run back. A vertical format negative.
