A slightly distant starboard near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the staysail spritsail barge Pudge (1922) under sail in the Thames Estuary during the 1981 Blackwater Match. She is on the starboard tack and her mizzen sail is furled. The race starts off Osea Island in the Blackwater and runs out into the Thames Estuary to the Wallet Spitway off Clacton before turning for the run back.
