A close view of the starboard side of the stern of the staysail spritsail barge Cabby (1928) under sail in the Thames Estuary during the 1981 Blackwater Match. She is on the port tack and her mizzen sail is furled. A number of passengers are sitting or standing by the aft end of her main hatch and are looking at the photographer's boat. Everything forward of midships is out of the picture and only part of her mainsail can be seen. The race starts off Osea Island in the Blackwater and runs out into the Thames Estuary to the Wallet Spitway off Clacton before turning for the run back. A vertical format negative
