A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the staysail spritsail barge Pudge (1922) under sail in the Thames Estuary during the 1981 Blackwater Match. Her mizzen sail is furled and she is on the port tack. Her passengers are sat in a group at the aft end of the main hatch. The race starts off Osea Island in the Blackwater and runs out into the Thames Estuary to the Wallet Spitway off Clacton before turning for the run back.
