A distant bow view, taken from fine off the starboard bow, of the staysail spritsail barge Scone (1919) under sail in the Thames Estuary during the 1981 Blackwater Match. Her mizzen sail is furled, she has PREEDCRETE on her white topsail and she is on the port tack. The race starts off Osea Island in the Blackwater and runs out into the Thames Estuary to the Wallet Spitway off Clacton before turning for the run back. A vertical format negative.
