A slightly distant bow view, taken from very fine off the port bow, of the staysail spritsail barge Scone (1919) under sail in the Thames Estuary during the 1981 Blackwater Match. Her white mizzen sail is loosely furled and she has PREEDCRETE on her white topsail. She is on the port tack. The race starts off Osea Island in the Blackwater and runs out into the Thames Estuary to the Wallet Spitway off Clacton before turning for the run back. A vertical format negative.
