Two minesweeping trawlers and the monitor 'Marshal Soult'

This is a scene in 1918 and shows the monitor 'Marshal Soult', launched by Palmer's at Jarrow on 24 August 1915 and completed on 2 November 1915. She is shown here with her distinctive chequer-board camouflage and lengthened funnel, after April 1918. Trawler number 56 is the minesweeping trawler 'Pavlova', a former Grimsby boat (GY 716) requisitioned in August 1914 and returned to her owners in 1919. The trawler behind may be numbered 38 or 58. The weapon and submarine (?) to the left require further clarification, as does exactly what is going on with this unlikely combination of vessels.
