The Brewster freezing system on board the whale oil and whale meat transport Enderby (1922) alongside a berth at Immingham, Lincolnshire. She is at Immingham to discharge a cargo of whale meat from the Antarctic. The photographer is looking at one of six Brewster units, each of which comprises 160 cans producing 118 lb blocks of frozen whale meat and the six units can freeze 180 tons of meat in 24 hours. The freezing unit is in its vertical can form. Negatives numbers N85234 to N85242 were taken on the same occasion.
