Seascape

A dramatic evocation of a sunset over the sea. The sun is shown in brilliant colour low on the horizon against a vivid sky. It is painted yellow orange, flame red against a dark purple mass representing clouds. The cloud towers high into the sky and on the right spreads out as it rises, lit on the edges with yellow from the rays of the sun. The rest of the sky is painted a chalky blue. Reflections from the rays of the sun sit on the top of the water on the left and central foreground. The painting is inscribed '27 N' lower right.
