A British India Line commodore carrying out an inspection of a dormitory on board the educational cruise ship Nevasa (1956) during cruise 56 in the Mediterranean. The officer has four rows of medal ribbons on his jacket and has a wide band of gold braid on the left sleeve. The commodore who was in post at the time was Commodore D A K Nelson (25 January 1965 to 12 August 1966). Negatives numbers N85414 to N85510 inclusive were taken during Cruise number 56.
