The photographer is looking east-by-north from Valletta showing the St. Elmo West breakwater on the left and the Ricasoli East breakwater on the right. The steam tug Audaxia (1949) is on the left, seen from off her starboard bow, and a smaller motor tug is close alongside the Nevasa. Negatives numbers N85414 to N85510 inclusive were taken during Cruise number 56.
