HMS 'Lion', battle-cruiser
This is a basic wash drawing of the battle-cruiser 'Lion', built at Devonport Dockyard, launched on 6 August 1910 and completed in May 1912. She is depicted from off the port bow in 1916-17 after the removal of her torpedo-net booms, apparently stationary in calm water but without her anchors down, with her main armament trained fully round to starboard and the guns elevated. A dark area to the right may indicate land and there may also be ships astern to the left.
