A group of Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company female officers dressed in protective gear on a firefighting course conducted by Liverpool Fire Brigade. They are wearing coveralls and one has a face mask and breathing apparatus. The course was held at the S4 Airport Annexe of the Airport Fire Station which included the Liverpool Fire Brigade Training School and the Merchant Navy Fire School. The negative is slightly over-exposed. Negatives numbers N85715 to N85721 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
