Looking down on a Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company female officer dressed in protective gear using an extinguisher to fight a controlled fire while on a firefighting course conducted by Liverpool Fire Brigade. She is holding the extinguisher upside down to direct the jet of water at the fire pan. A Fire Brigade officer is supervising while other female P & O officers watch proceedings. The course was held at the S4 Airport Annexe of the Airport Fire Station which included the Liverpool Fire Brigade Training School and the Merchant Navy Fire School. Negatives numbers N85715 to N85721 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
