The photographer is looking aft from the port side of the forecastle showing a 3-axle Leyland lorry being swung aboard the ship to be stowed on deck abreast number 2 hatch. The Nuddea is berthed starboard side to the wharf and the London Leviathan, seen from ahead, is outboard of her. The forepart of the crane pontoon is out of the picture.
