Ten British India Steam Navigation Company cadets at their studies in the classroom on board the cargo liner and cadet training ship Chantala (1950) while berthed in the Royal Albert Dock, London. The photographer is at the front of the class looking at the cadets writing at their desks. On the outboard bulkhead is a poster of a British India B class cargo liner. Five of this class were built by Harland & Wolff Ltd at Govan between 1958 and 1961. Negatives numbers N85778 to N85818 inclusive were taken on the same day.
