A posed photograph of seven British India Steam Navigation Company cadets relaxing in their lounge on board the cargo liner and cadet training ship Chantala (1950) while berthed in the Royal Albert Dock, London. The lounge is on the starboard side of the ship and the photographer is looking aft and to starboard showing six of the cadets sitting down and drinking tea or coffee. Three of them are reading. Another cadet is standing while holding his cup and saucer. A framed photograph of the ship is on the aft bulkhead and the clock is reading 11.34. Negatives numbers N85778 to N85818 inclusive were taken on the same day.
