The waterfront at Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia. The photographer is on a boat in the harbour looking west-north-west at the buildings on the Pengkalan Weld. A number of single masted sailing vessels line the waterfront and the ferry to Bagan is alongside Church Street Pier. The buildings include the Malayan Railway Building with its distinctive clock tower and the premises of J.H. Vavasseur, the Borneo Company Ltd, T.S. Gampatham Godown and the East Asiatic Company Ltd.
