A two-masted auxiliary motor schooner under way during a transit of the Suez Canal, Egypt. The schooner is riding light in the water and is seen from off her port quarter. The photographer is on board an unidentified large steam or motor ship on a reciprocal course and suspended over the port side from one of the ship's derricks is a small boat with H.M.C. 14529 painted on the port bow and the equivalent in arabic painted on the starboard bow.
