A view of the port midships part of the British India Steam Navigation Company educational cruise ship Nevasa (1956) alongside at Heraklion, Crete. She is berthed port side to the quay and has an accommodation ladder rigged amidships, down which school children and cabin passengers are disembarking. Another accommodation ladder is rigged aft. Everything forward of the foremast and aft of the boat deck is out of the picture. The photographer is in a slightly elevated position on the quayside looking over a number of motor coaches parked on the quay in line abreast.
