She has a Welsh bonnet funnel cap and an accommodation ladder is rigged to a shell door amidships. The photographer is looking south-by-west from the Upper Barrakka Gardens showing French Creek on the left. A Royal Navy store or maintenance ship of the Fort type is moored astern of the Orcades and a tanker is in the Admiralty Floating Dock 35 (1946).
