A distant stern view, taken from very fine off the starboard quarter, of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger/cargo liner Orcades (1948) in Vigo Bay, Spain. She is flying the pilot flag from the bridge halyard. Under way in the harbour and seen from ahead of her starboard beam is a motor tug whose name is on th face of the wheelhouse but it is not quite legible. On her hull is the letter/number combination VI-5-2821. The photographer is on board the British India Steam Navigation Company educational cruise ship Nevasa (1956). Transparency number P62577CT was taken on the same occasion.
