Bronington (1953)
Scale 1:48. A dyeline copy of a plan showing an outboard profile, longitudinal half breadth and body plan, as fitted, of the Ton Class minesweeper Bronington (1953). The drawing also shows the location of the holes on the bottom of the vessel. There is a stamp from the Planning department and Design Division of Rosyth Yard, dated 26 August 1965 in the top left corner of the plan.
Ship built 1953 by Cook, Welton, & Gemmell, Beverley, converted 1965 to Mine Hunter. This print 1980 or later. Drawing shows the tiny bilge keels which could in part account for the class's reputation as rollers and general sick-makers.
Ship commanded by Prince Charles 1976. Sank at moorings Birkenhead 2016, still there (2023).
NPN1477 - 1480 & NPC 9614.
