Two domestic caravans on staging in the hold of the cable layer Dame Caroline Haslett (1950) while in the R & H Green & Silley Weir dry dock No. 1 in their ship repair yard at Blackwall, London. A flight of steps leads up from the bottom of the hold to the walkway level of the staging between the caravans. Part of the hatch cover above the hold has been removed and replaced by protective netting and temporary lighting has been fitted in the hold. The ship is being converted from a collier to a permanent cable layer.
