A port quarter view of the cable ship Dame Caroline Haslett (1950) in the R. & H. Green and Silley Weir dry dock No. 1 in their ship repair yard at Blackwall, London. She is being permanently converted from a collier to a cable ship. The photographer is looking forward and to starboard from near the dock gate showing men on the floor of the dock welding the stern frame near the propeller shaft. All of the cable laying deck fittings appear to be complete. Transparencies numbers P63554CT to P63558CT were taken on the same occasion.
