A close starboard side view of the forepart of the cable ship Dame Caroline Haslett (1950) in the R. & H. Green and Silley Weir dry dock No. 1 in their ship repair yard at Blackwall, London. She is being permanently converted from a collier to a cable ship. The photographer is looking forward and to port from alongside the ship amidships showing the control cabin and the supporting gantires fitted above the deck.
