On board the motor tug St. Eval (1930) during the dry docking of the motor tanker North Earl (1956) in Falmouth Docks, Cornwall. The photographer is on the starboard side of the towing deck near the towing hook looking aft and to port showing the manilla hawser connecting to the stern of the North Earl (1956), which is seen from fine off her starboard quarter. A running gog is fitted to the towing hawser. Two men are standing on the towing deck watching the lines and one of them has his hand on the capstan winch controlling the gog line. The steam tug St. Denys (1929) is alongside the starboard side of the tanker and the steam tug St. Mawes (1951) is ahead of her by the tanker's bow. Transparencies numbers P63560CT to P63640CT inclusive were taken on the same day.
