The photographer is on the starboard side of the towing deck near the towing hook looking aft and to port showing the manilla hawser connecting to the stern of the North Earl (1956), which is seen from dead astern. A running gog is fitted to the towing hawser. Two men are standing on the towing deck watching the lines and one of them is by the capstan winch controlling the gog line. The steam tug St. Denys (1929) is alongside the starboard side of the tanker. Transparencies numbers P63560CT to P63640CT inclusive were taken on the same day.
