The photographer is looking from the stern of the tug showing the tanker, seen from fine off her starboard quarter, but her entire afterpart is out of the picture. She is entering No. 4 graving dock and has the steam tug St. Denys (1929) alongside amidships. The steam tug St. Mawes (1951), seen from off her starboard bow, has finished her service and is heading away from the dock.
