A port quarter view of the motor tanker North Earl (1956) in No. 4 graving dock at Falmouth, Cornwall. She is undergoing damage repairs and repainting. Only her stern is in the picture and her superstructure is hidden by the smoke and steam from the 0-4-0ST steam locomotive No. 6 which is working in the foreground. This engine was built by Peckett & Sons in 1919 for the CWS soap works near Irlam and was bought by the Falmouth Docks & Engineering Co in 1968. It was taken out of service in 1986. The rail mounted crane No. 15 is working alongside the ship. A mobile compressor from Ballards Plant Hire Ltd is on the left.
