A port bow view of the British India Steam Navigation Company passenger/cargo liner Karanja (1948) in Hughes Dry Dock, Alexandra Dock, Bombay. She is undergoing a minor refit and the photographer is on the dockside at the head of the dock looking aft showing two men standing by the guardrail looking down into the dock. The port anchor and chain have been removed from the hawse which is surrounded by rust and the starboard anchor has been lowered but not disconnected from its chain.
