A view of the port side of the British India Steam Navigation Company passenger/cargo liner Karanja (1948) in Hughes Dry Dock, Alexandra Dock, Bombay.

A view of the port side of the British India Steam Navigation Company passenger/cargo liner Karanja (1948) in Hughes Dry Dock, Alexandra Dock, Bombay. She is undergoing a minor refit and the photographer is looking forward from the top of the dock near the stern. There is scaffolding on the floor of the dock to permit the scraping of the hull and repainting of the anti-fouling. Wooden shores are keeping the ship upright on the keel blocks. The white paintwork on the upper part of the hull appears to be in good condition. Transparencies numbers P63922CT to P63930CT were taken on the same occasion.
