A close view of the starboard side of the Federal Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Piako (1962) working cargo alongside Pyrmont Wharf, Darling Harbour, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The photographer is on the dockside looking forward from abreast the stern of the ship. She is using her own derricks to load bales of Grazcos wool that are destined for Liverpool, Bradford and Essex. The bales are being moved by a modified fork lift truck that has "D.I.A.S. Pty Ltd, 19 Wharf, Pyrmont" painted on it. Carego nets are hanging over the ship's side, she has an accommodation ladder rigged amidships and the hatch covers of her forward holds have been hoisted on booms to dry.
