Loading cargo on board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Stratharlick (1969) at Berth 17 in the West India Dock, London.

Loading cargo on board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Stratharlick (1969) at Berth 17 in the West India Dock, London. The ship is using her 150 ton Stulcken derrick and a spreader beam to lift a large steel unit, that is partially covered with plywood, from the hold of the dumb lighter Sago, PLA1327, which is alongside her starboard side. The photographer is looking forward and slightly to starboard from near the centreline of the bridge deck showing the steel unit being swung over the number 3 hatch coaming. Other lighters laden with wooden packing cases are alongside the ship. The Swiss wine and chemical tanker Rhone (1974) is alongside the bulk wine berth on the right. A vertical format image. Transparencies numbers P64148CT to P64162CT were taken of the same event.
